Re: Sonex-A purchase - What to look for

Re: Sonex-A purchase - What to look for

There is a lot of negativity here. Just realize that those bad things are not common to every experience. I think your original plan of flying locally for 2 days to make sure your comfort level is there is good. Then setting off with the approach of waiting out weather. The UHaul solution is always ...

Re: Sonex-A purchase - What to look for

My take is the weather game is the same no matter what engine/airplane you are flying behind/in. If it's not good, wait it out until it is. Broadly the weather moves west to east, so you can always wait for it to pass then continue west. With a new to you airplane, your definition of good weather is...

Re: Glareshield Surface Treatment

I often have to wipe down my glareshield. It gets dusty. The fabric probably does too, but harder to notice. So I think that is one advantage of paint.

Re: Glareshield Surface Treatment

I was all about minimizing reflections. Flat black paint (maybe primer) for me.

Re: Tailbeacon on a Waiex

My sheetmetal piece is a bust. The mounting tabs are interfering with the skybeacon. Not enough room. Anybody doing something similar, I recommend making it bigger. What I am going to do to recover is make a laminate of glass, 0.025" aluminum, glass, and bond it into the cone. Stay tuned.
