Re: Cross-Country Tool and Supply Kit

Re: Baggage area DIY

Here is a sketch: Edit this sketch is the finished dimensions of the baggage area flat pattern. Fabric cutout will be larger for velcro, and for stitching the corners up as described below. Screenshot_20240519-124104.png In case my writing is hard to read: The trapezoid is 36.75" along the seat...

Just to tie the two threads together, I ultimately figured out a solution to the high #1 EGT: https://sonexbuilders.net/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=7674 One thing I've noticed over the years is greater RPM at high density altitudes. I've always assumed it is because of the thinner air causing less load ...

Re: Cross-Country Tool and Supply Kit

That’s awesome! My partner is quite the seamstress, so I think I’ll put her to work! I'm sure I did a sketch somewhere. If I can find it I'll share it. I'm not the best at sewing so if your partner has skills, this is really easy to make. For the adhesive Velcro make sure you get the good industria...

Re: Cross-Country Tool and Supply Kit

We keep one of these in the back of our A model Waiex: https://www.harborfreight.com/solid-nonslip-drawer-liner-65565.html Weighs little. We put it on the windshield when putting in Decalin & fuel. When you get a fuel splash it protects the windscreen. I'd disagree with bringing something to jum...

Re: Sonex-A purchase - What to look for

If you sit too long with the secondary ignition, radios, lights, etc all on you will quickly deplete the battery capacity down. Of all those loads, the ignition is the biggest. The radio doesn't draw much when not transmitting. We always turn the secondary off on the ground. We use both ignitions t...
