Re: Cotton Waiex 191 - N191YX

Thanks Ryan! We may end up doing that as well. I used a stick with an angle cut in the end to back up the lexan, while Adam drilled. https://s1.postimg.org/4w385tll1b/stick.jpg One side clecoed in: https://s1.postimg.org/1n449630vj/clecoed_windscreen.jpg It seems like it would be easier to drill the...

Re: Cotton Waiex 191 - N191YX

We trimmed and did the initial drilling on the windshield. So far, so good. https://s1.postimg.org/7nf74lsein/cutting_lexan.jpg Clecoed in. We used a ratchet strap to get it snug. https://s1.postimg.org/7rbkghjmkv/clecoed_lexan.jpg We still need to get the sides bent down more. Matthew and I also di...

Re: Cotton Waiex 191 - N191YX

Sorry Glenn, I failed you. We started fitting our windshield. Thanks Jeff and Sonex604.com. Here Adam is whacking down the flange: https://s1.postimg.org/1vd7uvwb6n/whack_job.jpg After the initial whacks I realized it would be prudent to remove the radio and transponder. Next, a trial fit: https://s...

Re: fatigue crack and break of tail wheel spring

I've only bought his NACA vents and tailwheel steering push rod. My impression is that his products are good and his engineering skills are solid.

Re: Drill bits to drill main spar attach holes.

I think that for front to back, I put the bit in the bushing first. Then I chucked it up in the drill. I did not use an angle drill. It was tight.

Re: Drill bits to drill main spar attach holes.

Noel,
I used a pneumatic drill. It was small enough to fit. I may have trimmed a foot long 1/4" bit to get the optimal length.
