Re: Wing Bolt Pros and Cons

Randy, They are both. You will need 3/8" OD, 1/4" I'd tube. The 3/8" will need to be turned down to your hitch pin size. The 1/4" is actually less and you will need to run a drill through it. You need a lathe, or in my case a friend with a lathe who knows how to use it. Mine were...

Re: Cotton Waiex 191 - N191YX

Adam updrilled a bunch of breaker and switch holes. The breaker switches we have use two flats to prevent rotation. He had to finish those with a file. He also drilled the intercom holes to size. I made the CDI mount. https://s24.postimg.org/7by588wt1/panel_rudder.jpg The pink thing is Matthew's fir...

Re: Tightness/Looseness of Aileron Bellcranks

Here is what I did to the control stick bushings: http://www.sonexbuilders.net/viewtopic.php?f=39&t=578&p=23081&hilit=control+stick+bushing#p23081 Here is another technique, similar to what Noel recommended. http://www.sonexbuilders.net/viewtopic.php?f=39&t=578&hilit=Mixer+bushin...

Re: Tightness/Looseness of Aileron Bellcranks

Chris, I would not be happy with that amount of slop. The bellcranks should be loose. To loosen up that second one, some polishing compound on a bolt or steel rod will do the trick. Chuck it up in a drill, spin it and move it back and forth. I have done the final reaming on a bunch of bushings that ...

Re: Interior lights

I was going to ask Jeff how he got the backup lines off his camera. Then I watched the video more closely. On Instructables I found directions for that and undoing the mirror image: http://www.instructables.com/id/Modifying-120deg-viewing-angle-infrared-rear-view-/ Same website where we got the hams...

Re: Interior lights

Don,
I doubt I'll use the lights on the camera. I know a great idea when I see it (usually).

Re: Panel Images

Looks good Noel! The modern panels are very space efficient when thought out. My panel is a hodgepodge of stuff I had, plus I bought a G meter and turn coordinator. I have less than $2K in mine, the bulk of it in the KX155. One nice thing about center controls, it will be easy to mount my Anson Engi...

Re: Muffler on AeroVee?

I plan to modify my headsets with CEP earplugs. Some of the Sikorsky pilots I used to fly with used them. I doubt the mighty Aerovee cannot compete with the inside of a UH60.
