Re: Waiex tail hockey stick - drawing revision

First, Thanks Kevin Conklin for posting your frustrations. They made me think and that helped. Observations: 1) the 1" half-hole worked good. I never bothered with the 1.5" half hole. See my Waiex 191 thread in the photo section if you have not yet. 2) you need a 1" solid steel bar. M...

Re: Laser drilled holes

Thanks. I agree there is very little sport in matched hole parts, that is why I went that way! Even with the matched hole parts there is still some virgin metal to drill through.

Re: Laser drilled holes

Thanks Robbie! Do you pilot through the pinhole side or does it not matter?

Laser drilled holes

All, I have never messed with laser drilled holes before. Obviously they are placed accurately but they are ugly. Do you drill through the pinhole side, or the ugly side where the hole is bigger? Do you always pilot the holes before you transfer the holes to the next piece? Any wisdom you can share ...

Re: Cotton Waiex 191 - N191YX

It is ready to go. I am holding off partly because I am tired, and mostly because I want my 12 year old there for the bend. He helped make the tool.

You can see I screwed on some keepers to keep the part and tube aligned with the slot. Overkill? What do you think?

Re: Cotton Waiex 191 - N191YX

You can see part of my press in that last pic. It is a decent size famco.

Re: Cotton Waiex 191 - N191YX

Getting closer. Unfortunately I bought some 1" black pipe, but I guess that is the ID. I found a piece of steel pipe and an old broom handle that fit in tight, like with a hammer.

Re: Cotton Waiex 191 - N191YX

Here is my shot at a hockey stick bending tool. I made 2, one with a 1" hole to get it started, one with a 1.5" hole to finish. I bought a 1" piece of black pipe and I have an arbor press.
