Re: Which Propeller?

I originally had the ground adjustable Sensenich, and was extremely disappointed with its performance and it's poor use of extremely strippable hex bolts. I had a fixed pitch Sensenich (the one recommended by Sonex), but was disappointed by that one as well (better than the adjustable pitch, though)...

Re: Handful of crosswind

I had a prop strike years ago on Nantucket Island, a towered airport, while taxiing to parking. Even though it's not a reportable incident, I had to talk to the people in the tower and fill out paperwork. I got a letter from the FAA that they were investigating and wanted to talk to me. I had to go ...

Re: Breakers in place of fuses

I've only had 1 trip in all the time I've had them. The EIFS switch tripped because of a short. So it did it's job. With all electrical systems being witchcraft and voodoo to me, that's all I know :-)

Re: AirVenture 2022 Thread

I'll be there (21 years in a row), but sans Sonex, this time. I plan to help, just not sure when, yet. BTW, when the Sonex booth got relocated, the Sonex parking area kind of went away, other than some of us parking where we "usually" parked. Anyone know if there will be a designated Sonex...

Re: Fuel in the cockpit

Glad you landed uneventfully! I have an aluminum drain line from my catch pan, that exits out the bottom of the cowl. This also serves to drain water that gets into that pan. Even with a cover, rain sometimes goes where it wants to go! You can start at this log entry to see what I did: http://www.my...

Re: Aerobatics Video

To do a "correct" competition loop you need to start from level. For the AeroVee I tend to fly 140 kts (160 mph), and pull to level briefly before pulling into the loop. That pull to level bleeds off a little speed. Without a constant speed prop you need to manage your RPMs. I'll overspeed...

Re: Aerobatics Video

Fun to watch the G's and other numbers! Glad for the 6G airframe! (Note that I fly in Kts.) For anyone looking at the Oil Temp, it's actually 100 deg higher that you see. We've never been able to get the MGL data for OT to read properly.
