Wildly Fluctuating Oil Pressure

I could use some collective brain power for my AeroVee. Several weeks ago I suddenly, on one flight, began getting fluctuating oil pressure readings. Normally I run around 48 psi or so. I was getting readings that would stay up in the 40's, then suddenly drop to the low 20's. Then up into the 30's, ...

Re: RevMaster: rough on take off only

My ONEX with AErovee and Aerocarb does exactly what Brock says......stumbles ONCE on takeoff only if the throttle is pushed in fairly rapidly. Does not do it with slow throttle advance and the stumble is very brief. So I just push the throttle in slowly. End of problem. Only happens to me on very, ...

Re: Tire Pressure

45-50 lbs, for the last 8 years. Low pressure tires have, in the past, spun on the rims and torn off the stem.

Re: Which Propeller?

The Prince comes up fairly often. What makes it better? Can anyone post the head-to-head numbers from the same airplane for the same loading and conditions? Has Sonex tested it? What is their input? I don't think Sonex cares what brand people use but they probably want the best performance for thei...

Re: Which Propeller?

I originally had the ground adjustable Sensenich, and was extremely disappointed with its performance and it's poor use of extremely strippable hex bolts. I had a fixed pitch Sensenich (the one recommended by Sonex), but was disappointed by that one as well (better than the adjustable pitch, though)...

Re: Handful of crosswind

I had a prop strike years ago on Nantucket Island, a towered airport, while taxiing to parking. Even though it's not a reportable incident, I had to talk to the people in the tower and fill out paperwork. I got a letter from the FAA that they were investigating and wanted to talk to me. I had to go ...

Re: Breakers in place of fuses

I've only had 1 trip in all the time I've had them. The EIFS switch tripped because of a short. So it did it's job. With all electrical systems being witchcraft and voodoo to me, that's all I know :-)
