New Owner Sonex A #972

Hello all -

I'm the new proud owner of Sonex 972 - N419SK
Built by Kenneth Flaglor in 2011

I had it transported to me from it's prior home in Indiana to West Virginia. The transporter I used was DeLand Barnstomers (Bill Willmeroth) This is the second airplane Bill has moved for me. I highly recommend his services for transporting aircraft, projects or about anything. He is an A&P and really knows his business!

As for the airplane - N419SK is a beaut!

I DID EVERYTHING WRONG in buying this airplane -

- I bought it sight unseen
- No prebuy
- Trusted the seller 100%

WOW WAS I LUCKY! The airplane is PERFECT. Well built. Clean and true.

The builder was a fellow named Kenneth Flaglor. He was well known to the homebuilt family. I did some research on him. He has built some 10 or so airplanes. Evident by the construction of my new to me airplane this man was a perfectionist. Perhaps someone out there in the Sonex community knows/knew him? Would like to hear from anyone that did.

I did the ownership transfer (i.e. $100 transfer tax for Sonex) and that all went well. Have sent off my registration form to the FAA and am putting the wings back on this weekend.

I have attached a photo so you all can see this beauty. Can't wait to get in and start getting to know my new friend.

Thanks for the time -

Greg.

Congratulations, Greg. Enjoy your new, to you, airplane. BTW, if your Sonex still doesn't have gear leg fairings, you're definitely going to want to add them. You'll see significantly better performance with that simple addition.

Have fun,

Hi - Thanks. Yes, I have the fairings. Removed for transport but I will be putting them back on.

Greg.

Finally got around to putting the wings back on my new-to-me Sonex. Great help from some of the local EAA Chapter folks. We found it to be a three person task. Just need to get someone with small hands to help me get the flap pushrods connected again

Congrats on the "new" Sonex, and thanks for the heads-up on Deland Barnstormers. I'll definitely squirrel that link away for possible future use.

Nice! Hope to see your flight report soon.
We did it with two people, but the floor wasn't installed yet.
