Glad it brought back memories. It is a tough hike that leaves an impression on you.

I've been putting off editing my AirVenture footage from 2015 because my GoPros failed to take external flying shots. Both of them got SD Errors during the trip that I wasn't able to fix. I decided to concentrate on the shots I got of the Dynon from inside the cockpit. It gives you a good idea of the capabilities of the system. It starts out with the flight from Sedona to Reedsburg and ends with a collection of memories from AirVenture.

I'm new here and sure enjoyed all of your videos Jim, thanks for sharing. It looks like you are quite comfortable flying your Waiex. You do have a good life, the riveting girl, Waiex, and cabin at Big Bear. What did you fly before the Waiex and how did the previous planes compare?

Before the Waiex, I owned a DG303 sailplane and I rented Cessnas from San Diego's Plus One Flyers club. I always wanted my own plane was put off by the maintenance costs of owning a certified plane. The Sonex was the perfect compromise of price and performance. It doesn't haul a load like a Cessna and it doesn't go as fast as a Cirrus but it goes fast for little gas and has been extremely reliable. The systems and construction are dirt simple and easy to work on. The Jabiru has been rock solid and a great performer. I looked at my log book this past week and saw that I had over 20 flights to Big Bear in 2015. So, of course, I made a video! Hope you enjoy.

Cool vid. I love the sound too. Starting up that Jab still gives me goose bumps. A friend heard another pilot wonder what the heck I had under the cowl when I cranked up one time. The sound coming out doesn't match the appearance and throws a lot of people off. I always say it looks like a kitten and sounds like a lion.

I haven't been very active on the forums of late, but I have been flying the Waiex like there's no tomorrow. I recently completed a San Diego to St Louis trip for a graduation (no video) and a trip to Portland Oregon to see my brother. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KD4dAXxh-uo
