With the recent announcement of the Sonerai returning to Sonex Aircraft, SonexBuilders.net has added a forum for the discussion of the Sonerai airframes. You can find it under Aircraft on the SonexBuilders.net home page or by going to https://www.sonexbuilders.net/viewforum.php?f=64

Yay! Welcome home Sonerai!!

Since I started out my "career" in homebuilt aircraft by building a Sonerai, I figured I ought to post something here!

Woohoo!!

It's where I started as well, many years ago. Sonerai IIL. N86PH. Fantastic airplane. Would love to do another after the B is done.

The Sonerai coming home is great news.
When I was 17 I saw the Sonerai in Janes Homebuilt Aircraft and dreamed of building one of them for years. Two decades later the I started building a Sonerai 2LS. It was my first plansbuilt plane. It was completed in 2003 and I flew it for 5 years before building the Sonex. It was the second Sonerai fuselage to have a Jabiru and the first Sonerai 2LS fuselage to have a Jabiru engine.

Would love to build another one day. I reckon with the right prop it would have a 150Kt cruise with the six cylinder Jab I have in the Sonex.
