Peter:

I did allow for the skin thickness (probably off a few thousandths, though). I think what you may be seeing is mostly the result of me quickly flipping and rigging the wing for the photos, with some pressure on the flap which is just cleco'd, allowing some slight movement....

So, just out of curiosity I walked around the big hangar where I work and checked out some certificated aircraft. Here's what I found.

Good pics Ryan. The flap on the C182 in my hangar sticks out 5/8" past the ailerons.

After seeing the photos of the certified acft a few of you submitted, I am a little embarrassed that I was so concerned with what appears to be a small item. On the other hand, hopefully that means that I am meeting specs in the areas that really count.... Thanks EVERYONE!!!
