Airworthiness Earned! N83LJ!!!

Postby jjbardell » Wed Mar 02, 2016 12:10 pm

I had a wonderful experience with my FAA Examiner. He liked the plane and all my paperwork was well organized! Now it is time to prepare for the first flight.

Congratulations! Way to go! I bet you feel like you just won the lottery!

Don't let anyone rush your first flight. Go only when you are 100% ready. When you "know" the first flight will be successful not when you "hope" or "think" the first flight should be successful. 100% know that it will be successful.

Have you attended the Sonex transition flight training? Nothing else will prepare you for your first flight any better.

I look forward to hearing your pilot report on your first flight!

Thanks all!

I am excited to now report on this beautiful day N83LJ had two very short but successful flights. The aircraft performed flawlessly. The CHTs were hot on both flights, so I made a precautionary landing and am continuing to tune the engine so it performs as well as the airframe. Pics and video to follow.

I think you will find opening your cowl exits at bit will solve the high CHTs. Congrats.

Well done Josh. It seems like only 5 minutes ago you were starting to do the wiring.
