I am also very interested in hearing details and seeing photos of the Corvair installation.

My hearty congratulations also! The Aerovee is good for me at present, but I am also a great fan of the Corvair, and may in the furture install one on N502PD, s/n 1510. vbut I too am having fun doing the Phase one testing. Enjoy your time too! Great looking craft! I am interested in the AL cowling!!

Ditto on Gordon's post. I have a 2775 cc Corvair for my Waiex project so I'd love to see more detail of your installation (and other Corvair examples out there also!). Thanks!

Wow! What a beautiful airplane he has constructed. I have no idea how many Corvair conversion airplanes are now in service. My count when Myunn was being built was around two dozen. I'm a bit reluctant to talk about Corvair engines on this site as at one time it was verboten and I know John is not a fan of this conversion at all.

That being said ... the combo is quite awesome and works well together. I have 160 hours on mine and I adore the way the air frame handles and the power and smoothness of the Corvair is unreal. The weight also helps correct the tail heaviness that is noticed when using a light engine on the nose. For those that haven't seen these ... here are a few links to my Cleanex:

Dunno if this helps ...

Congrats, what a beautiful plane! I'm trying to build nearly the exact combination. I was actually at Barnwell this weekend and heard you were there but missed you because I was busy getting the bottom end completed on my 3.0L Corvair. I'm sure I'll be relying on people like yourself and Dale when I get to the FWF to help me get this project off the ground. These types of posts provide great motivation. Enjoy phase 1!

A little late on this post but congratulations ...yes Bryan was also an inspiration to me and thought for sure he'd be in the air first. But I'm glad he is so involved with his boys, also an inspiration to all parents.
