I have read much regarding Tracy O'Brien's landing gear and brakes, and decided to check it out. I can't find any information regarding Sonex parts on his web site. Apparently they are on Sabbatical from November through March - every search comes up "No matches" or "Error 414 page not found." Comments?

I have the brakes pictured on my Onex and they work fine.

I think he is specifically looking for axles and gear legs. I couldn't find them either ...

"Oh ... I see" says the blind man! You have insider information. No harm intended.

I did find it strange that I could not find the axles or gear legs on his site though. Hope he is still producing them.

Tracy O'Brian brake parts........alternative

On my Onex I went with the Sonex hydraulic brakes and installed individual heel brakes. Spruce sells the Hegar Master Cylinders p/n 06-00328 for $94.85 each. I made up some angle brackets to bolt them to the floor just inboard of the rudder pedals and they seem to work excellent. No welding required. I learned to fly in the 1960's with heel brakes so it's no big deal for me to adapt to them. I DO prefer toe brakes but can live with the heel brakes if required.

I would post some photos of the installation but I can't figure out how to post them........am computer illiterate.

Forgot to Mention...........

Of note regarding the Sonex hydraulic brakes and Hegar heel brakes on my Onex.........I also installed larger tires.......5:00x5 along with a 6" full swivel tail wheel from Flyboys. And the stock Sonex wheel pants WILL fit with out much modification.

I haven't talked to him for a while. He runs a one man show so he could very well be winding down and he has been know to head South at times.
