I started my scratch build with the rear fusealage. Wanting to be super accurate I used the 1" mark on the tape measure instead of the little clip on the end when laying out the skins. Only problem is that I forgot to add 1" to the overall length. Didn't figure it out until I started assembling things. Serously thought about making the whole fusealage 1" shorter but smarter minds prevailed. The skins made some nice wing ribs though.

When I started building my Sonex in 2003, I built two rudders and three ailerons. The first versions were warped. Sonex 550 now flies true and straight with 515 hours on her.
