When to connect aileron push rods

Postby dbdevkc » Sat Jan 21, 2023 1:30 pm

I am just about ready to rivet the wing skins on. But before I do is there reason why I should install/connect the aileron pushrods while I have the skin off? Or is it easy enough to work through the inspection hole after the wing has been riveted up?

From the video record, we did not have the pushrods in when we skinned.

Try shucking a peanut with one hand out of your car window at 60mph. When you can pull that off, you are ready to install the bolt, washer, nut, and cotter pin that connects the pushrod to the belcrank.

So I take it that your vote it to connect both pushrods to that belcrank before riveting the wing...

Not at all. Just be patient and deliberate. It's probably not even desirable to have them in the way during the wing rigging process.
