Value of my Sonex

Postby oldcurt » Wed Aug 30, 2023 4:38 pm

When I was building my aircraft, I would check in (every?) evening and watch the advice given. Now I am asking for advice. Because of age and minor health issues, I need to sell the plane, but would like some guidelines as to value. The plane was finished in 2020.
It is a Tri Gear, Revmaster, P-Tip, MGL avionics, reserve lift indicator. I believe the build quality is very good. One significant downside : The plane is hangared at Reno-Stead, and with only about 6 hours TT, it is still in phase 1, and cannot be flown away.
I will give a substantial discount from the "book" value, as I am eager to sell. Of course, the buyer determines the real value after a complete inspection.
I live near Nashville, but can travel to Reno to show the Airplane.
Photos available.
Thank you for any advice.

Somewhere between $15 and 20K. Flying VW powered Sonex rarely go for more than 25K.

And may you experience a healing.

My Onex with 350 hours on it went for 28K to a buyer in Canada who also got hit with the exchange rate and sent an 18 wheeler down here to pick it up. And---- he isn't a pilot. Amazing
