Not only is the building fun, but you end up with an airplane to fly after!

Which brings up an interesting topic.
It's my belief that there are a tremendous amount of kits in the experimental aircraft world that have been purchased, started, and then neglected or given up on. Even I am "guilty" of it. So I often wonder if there is a way of helping or encouraging kit builders to complete their aircraft. If for no other reason than it's fun to build an airplane. Besides, that's how the world is supposed to work, we take care of each other.

Just my two cents....

Bob, that is an awesome goal. I hope to make it to SnF some year too, maybe we could go as a flight of 2.

I have used this forum as a source of inspiration to keep going, and have tried to give back the same. I've known a few people who gave up on their projects and I've tried to encourage them. It's hard. EAA chapters are also key, I think.

I discovered a local Waiex builder in the Sonex builder database, and reached out to him. Found out his project was stalled and he was thinking about selling. I've not been successful in getting him interested to continue, but I've tried. Maybe I'll try again.

GMTA!! I was thinking a flight of two (or more!) would be cool. You and i are close enough that it is inevitable that we meet

I'm building an orphaned kit at Bult Field C-56. It's always good to have a completion target date. Sun-N-Sun '25 sounds fun.
BTW Bryan, An old classmate hangs out at Popular Grove, Do you know Randy Olson?

I don't know Randy. Does he live here in the neighborhood or just keep an airplane here? I'll check the directory.

C56 is about 90 miles from C77, taking a route that skirts the class B. We could visit sometime.

What we need is a friend to go to SnF in a C182 to bring our tents and clothes. Although if either of you are flying alone that is plenty of payload for your gear.

I'm familiar with the area. My first flying lesson was at Cottonwood 1C8 in '69. Learned to fly at RFD. Flew Popular Grove J-3 a few times back in '73/74.
