Kansas City Sonex "Turkey-Shoot" Gathering

Hi guys,

The Kansas City Sonex Squadron will be hosting (somewhat last minute...) an informal get-together next week, what we're calling the "Turkey-Shoot". Details will be released soon as we nail them down, but it will involve a little bit of flying, and a whole lot of shootin-the-bull over dinner! If you've in the greater Kansas City area plan to come join us for some bad landings and impossible stories. It will be fun either way!

Sorry for the late follow up. For anyone interested, we're meeting at 8:00 am Saturday at Bob Mika's hangar at OJC. From there we'll fly over to Miami County (K81) for breakfast at We-B-Smokin BBQ (great BBQ, but also make performance-killing breakfast plates as well). From there, we'll fly over to Garnder Airport (K34) and review VAA Chapter 16's project.

PM me for details if you need help or directions, and hope to see you all there!

Jeff

We had a good gathering today, with 3 Sonex aircraft and a C-170 flying in, despite the Kansas winds. A total of 6 builders / pilots, numerous spouses and kids, and a bunch of other interested people joined us for breakfast at We B Smokin BBQ, where the gross weight of our combined breakfasts outweighed the standard 170 lb FAA pilot!

With breakfast completed and bellies full, we loaded up and flew a few formation passes by the restaurant for the local photographer. With some luck, we'll earn a place of honor on the wall of fame in the restaurant.

Shout-outs to Gus Schlegel, Ray Kurian, Ron Sipple and Bob Mika for supporting this event on short notice, and for all you other Midwest area Sonex pilots, make sure to attend the 2017 Midwest Sonex fly-in.... the BBQ alone is worth the flight!
