I recently uploaded a walkaround video on my plane and it shows my set up (the video was not done for this thread). Although mine is a center stick I was well aware during the build of the need to set up the cockpit (flight deck) so as to prevent any "hand dancing" of controls at critical times. My biggest reach is for the radio which can be done with my free hand but is generally done by switching hands. I even set up the iFly GPS to be reachable with my free hand.

Admittedly mine is not set up for training but I've had instructors that felt comfortable giving me flight reviews with this set up and a few of my passengers like to fly it when I ask them if they would like to.

That’s why I mentioned it. Estimate it took about 5 hours to engineer and build an electric actuation for the flaps.

Well, the circa 2001 flap drive tube does NOT have the centerline weldment, so the throttle and mixture are moving to a small auxiliary panel at the far lower left corner of the existing panel, just above the flap and trim levers.

I made a dual throttle based on the design used by Zenith on their 601-650 series. two push pull controls operating bell cranks on a long shaft running side to side just under the engine mount. I flexible pull cable from that to the Bing Carb on my 3300. Also have electric flaps. which is an easy and quick conversion from side mounted lever. With throttle flap switch and the old style trim lever all grouped so that can reach all with hand on the throttle and other hand always on the stick.

It appears from the pictures that you have more/better leverage to turn the fuel off than pull full flaps.

From my experience, that black knob on the flap handle is not going to be your friend above 70mph.

What did you do about that? Did you go electric too?

Just "Flaps by Armstrong". It takes quite a tug on the flap bar to get it into the last notch. No extra knob for my hand to slip off of.

It's turning out to be very hard to get the controls out of the panel to move them. Access is very tight.
