Panel space

Hello,
I am curious, as I didn't see anything on the sonex site, how much space is behind the panel on a B model before you butt up against the tank? with modern flat panel EFIS's, most of the other equipment is remote mounted. Are most builders making and equipment shelf behind the panel to mount the extra hardware? I would be considering a Dynon system.

The plans say 11 15/32" 'approximately maximum instrument depth.'

You could make a shelf that mounts to the underside of the upper longerons to mount some stuff... I thought about doing that but I ended up fitting everything I needed on the aft side of the firewall and behind the seat!
