Pete,

I make the side skirt curved somewhat so the canopy is not stressed as much as trying to flatten it. I have about 1-1/2" overlap on the sandwich of the two sheets used as the skirt. I do not plan to use anything to bond in there. The canopy can not move unless the screws in the front and back hoops pull out. To help prevent that, I have a rear skirt that makes the canopy flush with the turtledeck. This spreads the screw load across this skirt instead of being isolated around each hole.
