Hydraulic brake line tubing and fittings

Postby austexaviator » Thu Dec 29, 2022 11:09 am

As you may know I am upgrading my brakes to the Matco kit. I have decided to run all new tubing but I am confused which kind to get. There appears to be two kinds.
Nylaflow tubing (type H), to be used with Ply-Flo fittings, or,
Nylo-Seal tubing (type NSR), to be used with SAE type fittings

Any reason to choose one over the other?
Also, what is the proper sealing compound to use when installing fittings into the master cylinder r brake cylinders? Teflon tape, pipe dope?

Thanks!

Type H is for HighPressure and is what Sonex supplied with their brake kit.
When I put mine tohether I used regular pipe dops as would be used for naturaql gas or water.
When setting up, remember air is lighter than brake fluid so make sure all fittings are set up so the air can exit the top when bleeding, it will save a lot of time.
