Seat Belt/Shoulder Harness Supplier?

Postby Barry63 » Fri Jan 13, 2023 5:25 pm

Where have you guys ordered your seatbelt/shoulder harnesses from? Aircraft Spruce? Another supplier? What Part Number? Preparing to updrill the seatbelt attach gussets on the fwd fuselage skins. The plans state a 5/16" hole for the bolts. I looked in the ACS catalog but couldn't find the hole size listed for the belts they carry. Don't want to oversize the hole and then have to use a bushing.

Thanks

Crow safety gear has Sonex specific options. I'm real happy with mine.

I know that seat belts for the Sonex have been difficult to come by for a few years. I also know that companies like Crowe and Simpson and others are high-quality items. I also have some experience putting my Waiex into the dirt after an engine failure and subsequently flipping over on its back.

When I was hanging upside down from my Camlock 4-point seat belts I realized that I had a perfectly good and safe set of seat belts that only cost me $90 for the pair.

I just purchased 5-point cam lock belts for the new RV7-A from eBay as well for only $62.00. FOR THE PAIR!

Just saying, maybe we don't need to pay hundreds of dollars per belt for a plane that stalls in the mid 40's.
