removing flaps

Need to remove the flaps for repair. I don't see any kind of pin to remove the piano hinge rod (if that's what it is called). Does that just slide out?
Any tricks or tips to make this easy?

Per the plans there should be a little cotter pin through the end loops on either side. The pin is shorter so it sits between the two cotters. Take both of the cotters out.

Get a piece of pin and bend it in an L shape. One side should be as long as you can make it, but still be able to fit between the inboard hinge and the fuselage. You need to jam/tap it in to push out the pin and grab it with pliers on the aileron side.

Thanks Bryan, I have looked on top and bottom of the piano hinge and did not see any cotter pins, did not see them on the plans either. Will have to go take another look. John
