Wings are back on (finally). Good to actually see some progress.

Have to address some rigging issues. The flaps aren't exactly symmetrical when you retract them (not sure it that was intentional or not) and the handle won't slide in the final notch when up either. When I bought it, the handle wasn't exactly snug and you really had to force it into place to get them fully up.

T-flight training mid May. Should be in the air again shortly after my return from OSH.

Glenn, I am based at FTY. Let me know if you need any help with the rigging.

Jake,

After referring to the plans, the rigging looks pretty straight forward. I don't know that I'll have too much of an issue unless there's not enough threads on the flap rod ends. I believe the pilot flap is going to take a bit more adjustment than the copilot side.

My main concern is conquering the elevator. Plans call out for 25 degree of up travel until it hits the stop against the bulkhead inside the tail. The problem is the horn doesn't appear as in the plans and it's missing the extension that would extend it to the bulkhead. The result is pulling the stick full aft ends up with the elevator tube rubbing the skin on the vertical (just enough to rub the paint off at this point). So I'm going to check the travel on the elevator and, if it exceeds 25 degrees, fab some sort of stop to attach to that bulkhead.

If you need an excuse to fly your plane sometime this week, let me know. I should be in the hangar tinkering every afternoon but Friday and Sunday. You're welcome to come laugh at my efforts to get the thing airworthy again and any advise or hangar flying you'd like to offer would be warmly accepted.

Back from OSH. T-Flight was AWESOME.

Finishing up the condition inspection on #600 this week. Then it'll be time to get her in the air finally. Much props to you builders. I've only had my plane since November and I'm going insane with the need to get it in the air. Can't imagine this feeling for years on end.

So I managed to fly #600 for the first time yesterday!!! Made some adjustments to the mixture and EFIS. Did a couple taxi tests and took off. Made one trip around the patch and had a perfect landing.

EGTs on #6 were high on the initial climb out. Not too worried about that. What I am concerned about is the low oil PSI after I brought the power back to idle after touchdown. I had a pressure issue before but found the EFIS was set wrong so I corrected that and still have a problem. The book calls for 11PSI at idle and I'm getting 7psi.
