Eh. Just because a thing is possible doesn't mean it is wise.

P.S. In case anyone gets wound-up by my response: As a former auto-racer, I have the same reaction when I see Hondas outfitted with super-wide tires, cut springs, excess camber, and lots of stickers. On the one hand, its not the best way to make those cars drive better/faster - and it certainly doesn't make their car any safer. But on the other hand, relatively few of them will suffer a catastrophic mechanical failure/accident as a result of their choices. So I can laugh and move on and not get too worked up...

Hi all,
Very nice indeed . Don't know if this is something Sonex LLC would be interested in. Engineering review for any beef up kit, maybe a FWF kit offered ?? We definitely need more engine options, I think sonex would sell more airframe kits with more engine options. Keep us posted!! What size prop u using? Ground clearance ok? Slightly longer gear legs may be the trick. Hoping you can bring it to Oshkosh !
Congrats!! Bryan u beat everyone to naming rights!

That retro vacuum venturi on the side really makes it complete!
Creative work on raising the tank to clear the starter.
I assume you started with a stock motor mount and altered it to fit the O200?

Michael,
Ed named it the Conex last December on this forum- I just remembered!

Looks great Ed and I am interested to hear about the plusses and minuses as you test. Though I am still an Aerovee fan I applaud your effort.

Very interesting! What's the prop clearance in level flight (wheel landing) attitude? How close is the CG to the forward max?

I love it. Even the use of old wheel pants to make the cowl blisters. I was pleasantly surprised to see the cowl still looks like a Sonex cowl. Experimenting is really what experimental aviation is about. Thanks for sharing the Pics Ed and good luck with the remaining flight testing.

I would be really interested to see the weight and balance, what prop is used (length and pitch) and what RPM you run for max and for cruise.
