If you've run out of Sonex flying videos to watch, here's one of me doing show and tell with my Instrument panel.

Sorry for all the slow talking, but it's a relaxing Sunday. :)

I like the idea of being able to remove the front of panel to work on stuffs.
Thanks for sharing your video.

Not finished, but the side cooling vents are are coming along. Probably the first Sonex-A to copy the Sonex-B model cooling.

Paul,
How are the side cooling vents working out?

Hi Bryan,

So far the cooling vents seem to be working just fine. Of course, the warmest day I've flown has been approx 40F, so the real test will be in the summer.

On my last flight a few days ago my CHTs after climbing to traffic patter altitude peaked at 294, 285, 315, 307, 327, 291. I expect that they will come down as the engine breaks in. Cylinder 5 may be higher due to it running leaner, but not sure.

The only issue I'm concerned with right now is carbon monoxide. My thought was that maybe the side cooling vents were allowing carbon monoxide to more easily enter the cabin. A short (approx 30 sec) ground run with the cooling vents taped over didn't help the issue, so the carbon monoxide coming from somewhere else.

So no negatives so far :-)

Where did you get your vents? I can't find them on the Sonex store.

I sent a message directly to Mark Schaible at Sonex. He took care of all the purchasing details.

Hi Bryan,

I have installed the Sonex B model cowl side vents, but I have only flown once since installing them so I cannot report on how well they work. I also could not find them in the Sonex webstore, so I emailed Mark Schaible, here is the response that I received:

"The B-Model Cowl side vents are working quite well. They should fit in a legacy cowl for most people.
• Part Numbers: SNB-P16-06L & R
• Price: $60.50 each
• Availability: We don’t have an overstock of fiberglass. We would have a set made specifically for your order and lead time could be about 4-6 weeks.

Send a note to orders@sonexaircrat.com if you’d like to get them ordered."

I received then in 2 weeks after placing my order, but I as Mark states delivery time could be longer.
