Bryan

When I was doing my baffles for the AeroVee, I found the same parts. I believe they are leftovers in the baffles from the original design and not needed. Someone smarter than I will have a better explanation.

Bryan, the top part in your picture looks like the one that goes under the prop hub to connect the left and right sides in the front, to keep air from leaking straight down under the hub. Here's what mine looked like:

The bottom part in your pic I think is is a tray for the bottom oil cooler airflow which I assume you aren't using.

Ultimately, you should have consistent baffle seal contact with the cowling around the full circumference of the baffles with no gaps. ALL incoming air should be forced to flow either through the cylinders/heads from the top>down, and/or through the oil cooler.

Thanks Ryan, you were right. We had mis-marked one of the bends and did 90 down instead of up. We are starting to figure out the baffle. The side parts are the least hokey and we worked those tonight.

bryan/adam,
seats look good. looks like you have good depth for the sticks. we had to take the factory upholstery to the local shop on ryan field for rework to make the stick slot deeper.
keep at it!

Thanks Michael! We made the foam first and sat on the cushions uncovered. We trimmed until they were clear. The covers are a little smaller than the cushions to keep everything tight.

Nicely Done Bryan. The wide parts go together in the middle? Or the odd shaped skinny parts?

Did you make patterns?

Gordon,
The skinny parts go in the middle. They were sized to clear the stick and go to the centerline of the aircraft. The fat parts jam against the side of the airplane to make it harder to drop stuff under the seat. I have a piece of newspaper as a rough pattern but otherwise no.

Ok. Well looks really good. Hopefully a few more months and I’ll be making my own pattern.

Thanks for all the positive feedback guys. Here is my cushion in place.
two cushions front view.jpg

There are notches in the back to let the seatbelts through. I made a little cushion to close that hole. Shape is wrong, I have to remake it. The notches in the front are for the flap and brake handles.
