Josh's Sonex #555 Build

Postby jmattson » Wed Jan 15, 2014 12:57 am

Well guys here is my first builders update. I just recently bought my project from a good friend of mine in my EAA chapter. The assemblies that were bought from him already completed are: most of the fuselage, wing spars, firewall, half of engine mount (VW), 1/4 of the ribs, vertical stabilizer, and horizontal stabilizer. I estimate my project is 50% complete with 75% left to go... I've been working on completing the forward ribs and gusset stock (page # is something like SNX W15). Below are a couple photos showing my recent progress. I'm a first time builder so don't make too much fun of my workmanship :D (My next posts will be shorter, I promise  )

BTW-This is my first time uploading photos to the forum so hopefully it works...

Here is the gusset stock, SNX W15-08 and SNX W15-09 I believe.

Tonight was spent finalizing the parts to make the forward rib assemblies. It feels good to get these knocked out of the way. Now I just need to prime and rivet.

These are all the forward rib assemblies together. W15-01,02,03, and 04

Here is a close up of one of the assemblies.
