Plans page?

Postby Brett » Tue Apr 14, 2015 10:53 pm

Hi all,

In the Sonex kit there is a supplied piece of ,what looks like chrome moly tubing and I am a little stuck as to what it is for. The tubing provided is a piece of 3/8 x 12 inch long material. I have hunted through the plans and have come up short as to where it goes and what it is used for. Any thoughts from those that have built or come across this before?

Thanks :)

-Brett

Hi Brett

You didn't say what the wall thickness was but I'm betting its a piece of bushing stock.
Used for the elevator idler and aileron bellcrank's.
Was part of the Wicks or AircraftSpruce hardware kits ordered separately.

I think pre-cut bushings are included in the full airframe kit these days.

Cheers

Ahhhh ok, thanks Tony.

I do think It was part of the hardware kit from Spruce that it came with but I wasn't 100% sure. I bought the QB kit Sonex and have noticed a few things like this that are included and not needed. All my bushing I have fitted so far have been the bronze type bush.

Brett
Steel bushing material is used in conjunction with the bronze bushings on the parts that Richo mentioned.
