hi all,
In regard to the wing attach tie down bolts. Is there a reason why the bolt needs to clear the lower wing skin and attach straight the the bracket? Curious as to why It can't just mount on the wing skin and bracket together.

I wondered the same thing when I got to that part. My best guess is that it may pull the skin in when tightened and create stress at that point or even change the the airfoil shape.

Yea, it'll pinch the wing skin. There is a bit of an air gap between the skin and the attach angle/wing spar at that point along the chord line. Just make the hole in the skin large enough to fit the washers/eye-bolt, not a big deal.
