Great Lakes Sonex Fly In

We are excited to announce that we will be holding our third annual Sonex fly in on Saturday June 27th.

The great news is that our airport is getting a new runway, but and there is always a but, our fly in is going to be a drive in this year. The nearest airport to us is Lewis Airport and pickup accommodations may be possible.

This years agenda includes the following.

Robbie Culver - update on his progress, if not completed Sonex and his turbo conversion of the AeroVee.
Dwayne Hudson from the FAA -discussion of the homebuilt certification process.
Robert Helms of UL Engines presentation on UL engines.

Registration will begins at 8:30 AM
First presentation scheduled to start at 9:00 AM
Lunch about 11:30 @ Charlie's (separate checks please)
Approximately 1:00 PM presentation
We will close our event with door prizes - you must be present to win.

Please RSPV by June 20th to help us make sure we're setup appropriately

The Great Lakes Fly In actually Drive In this year is fast approaching.

Due to construction the runway at Bolingbrook Clow International Airport has been closed.

For those wanting to fly in the nearest airport to us is Lewis University Airport KLOT. The Joliet Regional Port District have several grass tie downs available for the day free of charge for those attending the fly in – you need to bring your own ropes. It’s about a 20 minute drive from the airport so pickup arrangements need to be made in advance by calling Al at 708.638.8221

The event is Saturday June 27th – please see the attached schedule

We are headed off to scout camp and unfortunately will miss it. Maybe we can fly in next year!
