Creating more room for the control stick is a perfectly good solution. Nothing structural there.
Dynon has the install kit for the Legacy Sonex. I ordered that kit which came with the instructions. There was very little modification from their plans required to install the servo under the right-hand seat. The difference was mostly that the fuselage side of the B model does not angle in towards the center. I think the B model was easier to install the servos than the Legacy. I have done both.
