Here are my new mounts/heat sinks. 0.25 lbs for the two lights. I still need to add the molex connector.

With no heat sink the light got too hot to touch very quickly. I ran one light for 45 minutes and it was just a little warm. I used heat sink compound between the circuit board and my new part. It's pretty much all .016 except the additional heat sink on the second one is made out of flashing, which is .010.

Here is my final installation. For the weight and budget conscious Sonex builder this is the way to go. Cheap LED lights mounted to a thin aluminum box for mounting and heat rejection.

No radio noise. Now I can wig-wag in the pattern.

They draw a little less than 1A each and seem like a more focused beam. Only $16.
