Fuel Tank

Postby drPete » Sat May 13, 2017 9:20 pm

XNB-0010, a Quick Build, is being obstinate in getting the fuel tank to fully seat. Needs about 1/2 to 3/4 inch to meet the angle stop on the glare shield. A belt sander has removed the flashing around the tank waist seam, but the sticking point seems to be forward of the tank 'step'. Factory made glare shield, tank set with glare shield Cleco'd in place. Tempted to remove all the rivets in the glare shield to find the pinch point.

Anyone with a B-model have a tank installation experience to share?

Fuel Tank

Follow up: the factory installed firewall angle was incorrectly made, constricting the forward glare shield making tank installation impossible.
