Baffle Blocking plate sizing

Postby CodeOfLife » Mon Jun 27, 2022 2:01 pm

Could some people share pictures of theses plates. I’m trying to get an idea of what is optimal. Over where I am located we are having days of 95F.

The Jabiru Sonex cooling box instructions don’t provide information on sizing the blocking plates that go in front of the cylinders. They show the shape of one side but not the other.

I just want some background as to what shape and size determines the cooling.
Does cutting them too short cause the temperature to go up? Etc

I just put the new baffling on my 3300. I flew it without the cyclinder blocking plates to see how it did. Right now the front cyclinders are cooler as expected. I'll start to experiment with different sizes to fine tune my install. I believe the instructions say to experiment based on outside temp. You may need different sizes so make it so they are easily changed. I'm going to use tinnerman clips.
