New Revmaster Turbo Engine?

Postby rizzz » Mon Jul 13, 2015 2:36 am

An email that was accidentally posted to the revmaster yahoo group seems to suggest RevMaster might be displaying a new Turbo Engine at AirVenture this year:

Looks like the big reveal will be on the 26th of this month:
Friends,

You're invited to attend the Alternative Engine Round-up and Experimental Aircraft Fly-in on September 26, at the French valley airport in Temecula CA.

Of special interest is the debut of Revmaster's newest offering, an honest 100 hp 2300cc, direct-drive, turbocharged VW conversion.

Remaster has been offering a turbo version of their 2100cc engine for decades, but pressure from the customer base forced them to adapt a new technology turbo to their 85 hp R2300 engine, and they did it by adding only 4 pounds to the total dry weight, while picking up an additional 15 hp.

What makes this possible is their new, proprietary, 049 heads, proven to be capable of shedding the heat from over 200 hp.

The test engine will be on display at our event next Saturday (Sep 26) and the principals of the company (Joe Horvath and Ralph Maloof) will be on hand to answer questions and will be presenting an educational forum on the engine.

Also look forward to "show special" pricing available only at the event.
Here's the link to our event for more info:

We hope to see you there!!!

Looks like there will be some stiff competition for the AeroVee turbo in the very near future:

Please note Pat's comment:
BTW, this setup was designed to work specifically with the Sonex and Onex engine mount.

Very interested to see this one on a Sonex :-)

Rizz,
Thanks for the info. That Facebook page is a busy disaster, is there a way you could provide some more specifics or somehow link to just the info on the Revmaster turbo within that soup sandwich of a page/site/thing? Thanks.

Rizz,
Thanks for trying. The image didn't take, or somebody decided it wasn't worth the penny of server memory that it would have used up. Again, thanks for bringing this up.

They are rating it at 85HP. The Aerovee turbo is rated at 100HP and its only a 2180cc vs the 2300cc Rev.
Wonder why the difference?

I could be wrong, but I interpreted the article as saying the engine would be rated at 85-90hp at 12,000 feet MSL.
