Party at AirVenture Wednesday July 27th, 2016

Hey all you Sonex builders, pilots, and enthusiasts

We are planning an event but it must have member support in order to succeed.

We are lucky to have Wayne Daniels as a host for this event, and are planning this as a member-driven event.

This is something we need assistance with and have begun working on the logistics of getting people to the other side of the airport and back.

The party will be an informal BYOB (Bring your own beverage - if you drive please DO NOT plan on drinking alcohol!) burgers and brats affair at Wayne's 7th Heaven over on the east side of Wittman Field. The date is set as Wednesday July 27th, 2016 and the time is 6 pm local.

The night airshow is a highlight of the week, and we can enjoy it from the perspective of Wayne's backyard. Our plan is to keep costs to a minimum, hopefully around $5 a head. We need a few volunteers for driving the van, and coordinating transportation.

I am just re-posting this so folks headed to Oshkosh know about the event:

As of today we have 46 attendees signed up! Several have volunteered to help - thank you very much!!

Bumping this up once more - we already have over 60 attendees and several volunteers for driving.

Current plans are for those at the show without transportation, hop a free bus to the airport terminal where volunteers will shuttle you to Wayne's.

For those who volunteered to drive - thank you! Please plan on picking up attendees at the airport terminal about 5:30 to 6:15 pm.

I will follow up with another post next week and contact those who volunteered to drive.

Last call to join your friends and fellow builders/pilots at the Sonex Builders and Pilots Foundation BBQ one week from today!

Current plans are for those at the show without transportation, hop a free bus to the airport terminal where volunteers will shuttle you to Wayne's. The bus can be found on the AirVenture grounds at the large bus park. I just looked at the AirVenture app on my iPhone and it is hard to tell if the buses actually still go as far as the terminal. They appear to terminate behind the US Post office so look for updates to the pick up point as required - where ever the bus route ends we will do our best to pick you up there.

Just a quick BBQ update for everyone.

We will be cutting off registration for this on Monday right after the member meeting on the flightline.

Wayne Daniels was able to confirm there is bus service to the airport terminal. Please be in front of the terminal, at the east end of the turnaround. This is outside the airport fence.

Someone will be there with a sign that says Sonex BBQ. We have multiple vehicles to shuttle people. Rides are available both to the party and back again afterwards, including to Camp Schoeller.

Right now we are over the 80 person mark so don't miss out on what is sure to be another fun party at 7th Heaven in Oshkosh. And as always - a huge THANK YOU to Wayne and Kathy Daniels for hosting us. They are gracious hosts and we could not pull this off without them.
